Thursday July 22nd
Remember that awesome vintage-inspired engagement session from Savannah wedding photographer Jade McCully that we posted on Tuesday? Well, you’re in for a treat because today we have Ashley & Khalil’s wedding to share with you!
Ashley & Khalil
Ashley & Khalil were wed at Historic Little Rock Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. Their wedding and reception were both about the great migration northward of former slaves, and Ashley put a tremendous amount of effort into all the details – especially her outfits and her bridesmaids’ jewelery and hair pieces. Their reception was held at the Charles H. Wright Museum of the African American History and boy, what a reception it was! Do you SEE those towering white lily and feather centerpieces?! Other special details included a watermelon cocktail, southern soul food, dolls representing different eras in history, and a book that each guest received documenting special events in Ashley & Khalil’s life – including recipes!
The night ended in the basement, which was set up like a speakeasy! Ashley changed into a hot pink asymmetric number with lots and lots of ruffles so she and Khalil could dance the night away with their guests.

Congratulations, Ashley & Khalil! A truly beautiful celebration for the start of your lives together. Thanks, Jade, for letting us share their special day! Visit her blog to see more of her wedding photography and fine art work. Fun fact: it was Jade’s fine art work that convinced Ashley to book her in the first place!

Ashley & Khalil
Savannah wedding photographer Jade McCully knew she had a fun and adventurous couple on her hands when they agreed to leave Atlanta at 4 am for an early morning engagement photo session! Ashley & Khalil wanted a vintage feel for their engagement photos, and they decided to go with a 1920′s travel theme (hence the vintage suitcases, snazzy outfits and hats, and train tracks).
Jade also shot their wedding, which took place in Detroit last month. We can’t wait to share the wedding photos with you, but for now enjoy their fabulous e-session!

Monday June 28th
We’re in love with pretty much everything about this Georgia affair, from the dress to the venue. It’s sheer Southern perfection. Savannah wedding photographer Allison Reisz was kind enough to send us her lovely photos from the day, and we hope the eye candy will make your Monday a little bit sweeter.
Katie & Rob
Katie & Rob, along with their wedding party and close family, started the day getting ready at Wesley Monumental Church in Savannah, GA. The bride donned a classic Vera Wang gown and timeless Christian Louboutin shoes, and the groom looked dapper in a Calvin Klein tux. Katie & Rob chose not to do a first look, but all of their nerves melted away during a devout ceremony lead by a close family member. Lots of tears and laughter were shared between everyone present for the very personal ceremony.
After Katie & Rob were pronounced husband and wife, guests made their way to the beautiful Delta Plantation in South Carolina where a gorgeous reception was artfully put together by Sebrell Smith Designer Events. The Delta Plantation is an incredibly charming venue; the 2,752 acre rice plantation was founded in 1830 by the renowned lawyer and politician Langdon Cheves.
This timeless Lowcountry setting was the perfect backdrop for Katie & Rob’s reception. Guests enjoyed dinner, refreshments and live music under the stars and tent next to the more recently constructed pool house. Katie & Rob exited the reception surrounded by sparklers and guests exclaiming well-wishes. Rob drove the two of them off in an antique 1946 Ford convertible.

Congratulations, Katie & Rob! Thank you Allison for sending this beautiful wedding for us to share. Head over to her blog to see more of her charming wedding photography in Savannah and beyond.
