Choosing a wedding venue is usually at the top of a bride’s to-do list and is often times the most important decision in wedding planning (aside from picking a photographer, of course). Cake & Pictures creates beautiful coffee table books for some of the most sought-after wedding venues in the world, and we thought it’d be fun to give you a sneak peak!
The Parker Palm Springs in Palm Springs, California is the perfect location for a wedding. California brides (or destination wedding brides) might want to pay close attention. The hotel’s interior was designed by the fabulous Jonathan Adler and can only be described as luxurious and eclectic. I’m talking faux fur meets suits of armor! Outdoors, you’ll find immaculately landscaped grounds, a multitude of pools, and some seriously funky/retro chic settings for photos.
Yesterday we gave kudos to two of our photographers who won First Place in PDN‘s Top Knots competition. Today, we’ll be sharing which of our photographers were finalists! This is a long post (we’re lucky to have lots of talented photographers on our site), so you’re sure to get your wedding photography fix this morning.
Washington DC wedding photographer Greg Gibson was a finalist, thanks to this black and white showstopper.
Wedding photography couple extraordinaire and Los Angeles-based Cake and Pictures photographers Erin Hearts Court had two images published.

Ceremonies Category
Nashville wedding photographer Tara Kneiser was a finalist with this photo appropriately named “Unwilling Ring Bearer.” Too cute.
Portraits Category
Film shooter and Salt Lake City wedding photographer Jonathan Canlas submitted the image below, “Untitled.” This dog makes a tux look good.
First Place winner Lisa Lefkowitz was also a finalist in the Portraits category.
Details & Interiors Category
Erin Hearts Court scored two more published images in one of my favorite categories, Details & Interiors.
Candids Category
Los Angeles wedding photographer Max Wanger was a finalist in the Candids category. I laugh out loud every time I see this photo. If you like giraffes and v-neck t-shirts (like I do), buy the special edition t-shirt based on this image at Max’s online store. Max – if you’re reading this, your t-shirts are super, super cool.
Quite the likeness, no?
Receptions Category
Last but not least, New York wedding photographer Emin Kuliyev rounded out the competition with a photo in the Receptions category, “A New York Wedding.”
Congratulations again to the all of the winners and finalists! Head over to PDN’s online gallery to see the full list of winners.
