Phillip proposed to Nicole a few days before their engagement session with a 1940s heirloom engagement ring. They chose to have their portraits taken in the historic downtown of Jonesborough, Tennessee with Nashville-based photographer Tara Kneiser of Dixie Pixel.
Nicole grew up in a neighboring town, but chose Jonesborough because it’s the oldest town in Tennessee. Some of the buildings there date back to the 1770s. At the shoot, Nicole wore a bright yellow dress from ModCloth, and Phillip wore a pair of jeans with a black button up shirt.
The couple is planning an October 2011 countryside wedding, where their colors will be Air Force blue accented with orange.
