Today’s slideshow highlights the historic venue Teatro with photographs by Tara Whittaker.
Teatro is a bar, restaurant and art gallery featuring exceptional Canadian contemporary art, wines from around the world, fresh food and an intimate atmosphere. The building was designed and built by G.W. Northwood of Winnipeg in 1911 as the Calgary branch of the Dominion Bank in Alberta, Canada. Its façade combines the style of Beaux-Arts Classicism and Neo-Classical revival, with ornate and detailed carvings at the tops of the columns along the rooflines, windows and doorways.
