Daily Destination | Atlanta with Matt & Kate Altmix
Friday June 11th, 2010
I always look forward to posting Friday weddings, but I’ve been a little extra giddy all week about this Atlanta affair shot by husband and wife team Matt & Kate Altmix. Matt & Kate are wedding photographers based in Atlanta, and they’re also proud parents to this beautiful (not so) little lady. They bring different backgrounds in photography to the table (Kate attended art school and Matt worked in advertising), but their work meshes beautifully and their weddings never cease to put a smile on my face.
Amy & Dan
Kate spent the morning with Amy and the girls while they got ready (surrounded by a whole lot of makeup) while Matt hung out with Dan and the groomsmen. Amy & Dan met at Emory University in Atlanta, so it was only right that they spent some time before their ceremony taking some stunning portraits on Emory’s campus.
Amy & Dan had their ceremony in the garden at The Frazer Center. They both agreed that they wanted an intimate and meaningful ceremony, so they had the chairs arranged in a circle for their guests. They had a sweet tree planting ceremony, in which Amy & Dan added soil to the planter and each of their parents took turns watering the sapling. Following the ceremony, Amy & Dan had a reception complete with a Korean meal (catered by Bold American), served family style at each table to maintain the intimate feeling they wanted for their wedding, and one of the most epic dance parties I’ve ever seen at a wedding. Amy changed into a knee-length cocktail dress to get the party started, and from the looks of things – it never stopped!
Congratulations, Amy & Dan! Flawless work, as usual, Matt & Kate. Head over to the newlyweds’ blog to see more details from Amy & Dan’s lovely Atlanta wedding!
